Upcoming WorkshopDJEMBE CLASS FOR DRUMMIES
A 2-Class Workshop Series in Meadows of Dan
September 14 + 21, 2026
1:00–2:30 PM
Bhagini Yoga Studio · Meadows of Dan, VA
Whether you’ve never touched a djembe before or already have some experience, this two-part workshop is designed for mixed-level students who want to become more confident making music with others.
Over two 90-minute classes, HoloRhythm founder Kasey Jones will guide you through the fundamentals of djembe technique, rhythm, listening, coordination, ensemble playing, and musical expression.
We’ll explore how rhythm actually works—not simply memorize a collection of patterns—so you can begin hearing, feeling, and creating music more naturally.
No previous drumming experience is required.
WHAT WE’LL EXPLORE
• Foundational djembe sounds and playing technique
• Pulse, timing, and rhythmic coordination
• Listening and responding within a group
• Accompaniment rhythms and musical relationships
• Ensemble playing
• Improvisation and musical expression
• Tools for continuing your rhythmic development after the workshop
DRUMS ARE PROVIDED
You do not need to own a drum to participate.
A complimentary djembe rental is included for both classes. Simply let us know during registration if you need an instrument and HoloRhythm will have one ready for you.
